About The Founder... Gary Newell has always been a competitor. He played wide receiver for Coach Pat Dye on East Carolina University's championship football team. In 1978 he was a free agent with the Los Angeles Rams. His diminutive size and damaged knees ended his NFL hopes, so Gary used coaching as an avenue to share his experience with young athletes. One of the athletes he coached was Michael Jordan. However, not all athletes had the discipline and dream of Michael, and Gary spent much of his time helping young people handle the issues and struggles of life. He saw more and more young lives turn to drugs and alcohol for solutions. Gary recognized a tremendous need for someone to take a stand and be a positive role model in today's society. Someone needed to offer sound solutions for a confused generation, so Gary decided to take his competitive spirit from the locker room to the classroom. Today Gary is involved in a much more important game...the game of life. As founder and president of Outreach America, Inc, he travels across the country teaching high school and college sudents how to win in life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. From the Virgin Islands to Alaska, Gary has spoken to hundreds of thousands of young people. His humorous look at life is honest, dynamic, and gets results. Gary Newell has the unique ability to relate with the students at their individual level in life. He combines comedy and sleight of hand tricks to illustrate life's most important principles. His assembly programs are recognized nationally for their educational value. From selfimage, to goal-setting, to US history, to substance abuse, Gary Newell wraps together one of the most effective and entertaining learning experiences in the country. From the rural classroom to the Presidential Yacht, Gary has shared his message of winning in life. He has frequented radio and television talk shows, served on President Ronald Reagan's "Task Force," serves on the Central Carolina Board of Directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is a former recipient of the Outstanding Young Men in America Award.

What
Others Say... Blair Underwood "Sometimes experience in one field will open other doors... The experience you took with you from the Los Angeles Rams has served as a foundation for you... It is safe to say that the same intense determination to succeed and commitment to making a positive contribution are those same qualities you are using in this program." Jack Faulkner "With over 700 young people in a gymnasium, you could have heard a pin drop. (Gary Newell) held the attention of everyone for the entire forty-five minute program. Without hesitation I would say he affected everyone in attendance. He was the best speaker we have been fortunate enough to have address our young people." Shelia M. Prill "Students and teachers alike not only enjoyed your presentation, but also benefited from your message. You definitely have a unique way of getting your point across. It was one of our best assemblies ever." Mr. J. Crawshaw "I traveled with you to school assemblies in DuBois Area High School, Clearfield Area High School, and Curwensville Area High School. The presentation which you made to the students in those schools will affirm for them their own worth as human beings, and should show positive results in their lives. . As an attorney, I am aware of the limitations which public schools face in presentations which are made to their students. I felt that your message was well within appropriate guidelines, and should present no problems to even the most sensitive school administrator." Richard A. Bell "Gary Newell is one of the most dynamic and entertaining speakers that we have ever had the opportunity to hear. His message has a powerful impact on students and faculty alike. I was very appreciative to Gary for his sensitivity to the legal and educational ramifications that are involved in any assembly program. His assemblies should be a priority for all high schools." Ronnie Wilson "Gary's program for high school assemblies is on target with today's youth and the problems they are facing... Gary Newell held our student body of 1750 students spellbound for over forty minutes during a previous assembly. I strongly recommend Gary Newell to any high school that is looking for an assembly speaker that speaks to young people in a way they understand and appreciate." Robert N. Moore "The imprint you left on students will not be soon forgotten. One student said that you helped him get out of the 'grave he had fallen into.' You made everyone stop and think. Thank you for helping." Angie "I was very impressed with your presentation to the students of Clearfield Area High School... Your message was very timely and one that should be delivered more often to our youth. They enjoyed it immensely and... profited greatly by it." Judge John K. Reilly "The best speaker we've ever had!" "He's totally excellent!" "He is great!" These are but a few of the comments I overheard at the conclusion of today's assembly featuring Gary Newell ... He spoke with humor, compassion, and dignity and truly brought his message to the students... Having successful professionals, such as Gary Newell, talk to our young people is one way of assuring America's future in a positive way." Kathleen Knoepfel "Your presentation was indeed one of the best programs with an anti-drug message that I have ever heard here at the Charlotte Amalie High School. All of our students were attentive, involved, and enthused. The entire audience was highly charged and motivated. Your style, sincerity, and personal commitment against the use of drugs gave all of our students a new meaning to life." Sinclair L. Wilkinson "I have been teaching in the public schools for over twenty years, it is truly refreshing to have someone who is willing and qualified to talk with your students concerning drugs who is not a reformed addict... This is the third year for the Drug Awareness program at our school and I feel this program has had the greatest impact... It is my hope that more schools take advantage of Gary Newell... I recommend his program for any high school in America." Ron McCunn "I was very pleased to hear your informative presentation at our school for Drug Awareness Week. You had an impact on many students... I believe that every student in the gym was listening real close to your presentation... On behalf of my friends, I would like to thank you for coming to speak to us." Dawn "Unquestionably, (Gary) Newell is one of the most inspiring speakers I've ever heard. His message of how to live with the absence of drugs and presence of self-esteem, coupled with the humorous style, was well received by the students... Mr. Newell's message was certainly worth the attention it received." Ailie Petrus "Your presentation was what a lot of students needed to hear... I don't believe there was one single student not listening--- Your impact on us was good... I believe you came to do a job, and you did it very well." Missy "Gary Newell is a dynamic speaker who relates equally well to teenagers and adults. His message cuts through the facade of societal deception while delivering the truth... Gary is an accomplished speaker, and a man of tremendous intelligence, who is able to combine hardhitting messages with humor and historical fact." Terry E. Moffitt "Gary Newell possesses a broad background involving athletics, philosophy, psychology, history, politics, business...His unusually deep understanding of today's philosophies, his unique style of communication, and his commitment to principles, make him one of the most effective young voices today." W. David Stedman "Gary Newell is an outstanding speaker and an inspiring example for our young people today. Gary presented a program to the local schools for their Drug Awareness Week... After the program, about fifteen young people stayed to continue asking him questions and all were greatly edified by both his presence and his message. It speaks well of Gary's commitment to and respect for the (youth) that he was willing to remain and be available to their needs and their questions. I highly recommend that anyone take advantage of his willingness to share." Rev. Craig L. Fourman "Gary was our keynote speaker at our drug awareness assembly--- Gary did an outstanding job of relating to our students and had an excel lent presentation in helping them to understand how to handle peer pressure and make good decisions involving drugs and life, I would highly recommend Gary Newell as a speaker for students or community members. He is motivational, entertaining, and makes good points." Ron L. Coder "I have known Gary Newell since his early college days. He has always been highly motivated to a never ending quest for truth and its application to our present day society. The material which he presents is interesting and accurate." The Late A.
